Discussion:
[otb-users] Where can I find the Relatif Spectral Response file in QGis-OTB

Hello,
I would like to produce an optical calibration for Pleiades images on the
TOA level with OTB included inside QGis.
I have the metadata included in the native zip file, and naturally, I have
also all MS and P jp2 files.

Where can I find the "Relatif Spectral Response" (RSR) file needed in the
tool "Optical calibration included in QGIS Orfeo Toolbox. Must i building
this file? How? The informations are in the
"DIM_PHR1A_MS_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xml" by exemple, but how to build the
RSR file?
Thanks by advance, and sorry for my english...

Best regards,
Vincent,

Hi,

These files are plain CSV files : first column is the wavelength, next
columns are the values of relative spectral response (1 column per channel).
You can find examples in the OTB-Data repository :
https://git.orfeo-toolbox.org/otb-data.git/tree/HEAD:/Input/Radiometry

Hi,

Just a small correction to what Guillaume wrote: the second column is the
solar spectrum and not one of the bands.

Also, usually, the bands are sorted from shorter wavelengths (i.e. blue)
to longer ones (i.e.) infrared. The panchromatic band may be the first
or the last depending on the files.

For instance, for Formosat-2, the file

https://git.orfeo-toolbox.org/otb-data.git/blob/HEAD:/Input/Radiometry/FORMOSAT2/RSI/rep6S.dat

contains 7 columns which are: wavelenght (in micrometers), solar
spectrum, blue, green, red, nir, pan.

Hi,

I have a few doubts on the RSR files in Input/Radiometry. For instance,
in OTB-Data/Input/Radiometry/GeoEye/ikonos.txt , the column order is :
- wavelength
- PAN
- Blue
- Green
- Red
- NIR

Guillaume
Guillaume, I didn't know there were some files there with other formats.

When we introduced the radiometric corrections in OTB, we decided to use
the 6s format which I described in my previous message. This is why most
of the files are called rep6s.dat.

The files which do not follow this format are for Ikonos, Quickbird and
WorldView 1 and 2. And the difference is not only on the lack of solar
spectrum, but also in the units for the wavelengths.

I don't know how are the radiometry tools parsing these files, but it
seems suspicious to me that radiometric corrections can be done without
solar spectrum information.

Any idea what relative spectral response file I should use for
WorldView-3. I see the WV-03 radiance file on the git repo, but I don't
think units match what was intended. I'm trying to process the 8 VNIR
bands, which correspond to columns 2-9 in the file.

Thanks,

Craig

Hi,

First column is wavelength, second is the solar irradiance (W/m2, I
suppose) and the following are the spectral sensitivities (unitless) for
the different bands. So for a sensor with N bands, the file should have
N+2 columns.

Are these example files still available? Similar to what other people have
been inquiring about I'm looking to expand on a great product to include
additional sensors. It may be beneficial to have some kind of repository
with file inputs for the additional sensors that those of us in the user
community can provide to others. No sense in reinventing the wheel
constantly.

Thanks,
